How To Set Up Subscription Shipping Within The Recurpay Plan: Free vs. Custom Rate

Step-by-step guide to setting up shipping within a subscription plan.

Setting-up shipping for your recurring orders is a critical step in providing a great customer experience. Whether you want to offer an exclusive Free Shipping as a perk or set a specific Custom Shipping Rate, you can manage these settings directly within each subscription plan on your Recurpay dashboard.

Step 1: Access Your Plans

From the Recurpay Dashboard, navigate to the Plans section located in the left sidebar.

Step 2: Choose Your Plan

You can either modify an existing plan or create a new one:

  • Edit Existing Plan: Click on the specific Plan ID you wish to update.

  • Create New Plan: Click the Add Plan (+) icon on the top right hand corner to start a new plan from scratch.


Step 3: Locate The Shipping Field

Once inside the plan page, scroll down to the final section of the plan page. Titled: "Shipping for subscription orders"

Step 4: Select Your Shipping Type

In this section, you will define how shipping appears at checkout for your subscribers. Within this field, you have three shipping options to choose from.


​Note: The main objective here is to decide whether to offer free shipping or apply a custom shipping rate for your customers.

  • A custom shipping rate: This option allows you to set a fixed shipping fee for all subscription orders.

  • A free shipping: This option allows you to offer free shipping on all subscription orders.

Step 5: Save and Review

Before finishing, double-check that the rate applies to the correct products within the plan. Once verified, click Done to update the product selection page, then Save or Update Plan.

Once saved, here is what happens:

  • Automatic Application: New subscribers to this plan will automatically see either the custom shipping rate or free shipping at checkout.

  • Renewal Consistency: The selected shipping option, whether a custom rate or free shipping, will be locked in for all recurring orders, ensuring customers are charged accordingly.
