How to Migrate Subscriptions from WooCommerce to Recurpay

Migrating your subscriptions from WooCommerce to Recurpay on Shopify is a white-glove, fully managed migration handled by the Recurpay team. We manage the process end-to-end, ensuring a smooth transition with no downtime or customer disruption.

Migration Prerequisites

Before starting the migration, please ensure the following requirements are met:

1. Shopify Store Setup

  • Your store has already been migrated from WooCommerce to Shopify

  • The Recurpay app is installed on your Shopify store

2. Payment Gateway Configuration (Required)

Recurpay supports migrations only when payments are configured as follows:

  • Shopify Payments must be set up as the primary payment gateway

  • If you were previously using one of the gateways below, it must be connected as a secondary (legacy) gateway:

    • Stripe

    • PayPal

    • Authorize.net

What this means:

  • New subscriptions created after migration will be charged via Shopify Payments

  • Existing subscriptions will continue charging via their original (legacy) gateway

  • This ensures uninterrupted renewals for existing customers

⚠️ No other payment gateways are currently supported for Subscriptions and Migration.

If your WooCommerce store was using a different payment method, affected customers will be required to reauthorize their payment or update card details to reactivate their subscriptions after migration.

If you’re unsure about your setup, reach out to our team and we’ll help you verify it before proceeding.
