How to set up the customer portal for Self-management

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Modern subscribers value flexibility. Providing a self-management portal not only improves the customer experience but also significantly reduces the workload for your support team. By enabling the Recurpay Account Widget, you give your customers full control over their subscription journey.

Once active, your customers can perform essential tasks directly from your site, including:

  • Modifying Orders: Swapping products, editing quantities, or rescheduling delivery dates.

  • Updating Logistics: Changing delivery addresses and updating payment methods.

  • Managing Status: Pausing, resuming, or canceling subscriptions without needing to email support.

How to Install the Recurpay Widget in Shopify

Recurpay integrates directly with Shopify’s theme editor as an App Block, making the setup process code-free and seamless.

1. Navigate to the Theme Customizer

  • Log in to your Shopify Admin.

  • Go to Online Store > Themes.

  • Click the Customize button on your active theme.

2. Access Customer Account Pages

  • At the top of the editor, use the dropdown page selector to navigate to Checkout and Customer Accounts > Orders.

  • This is the page customers see when they view their order history.

3. Add the Recurpay Block

  • On the left-hand sidebar, click Add Block or Add Section (depending on your theme).

  • Search for and select the "Recurpay Account Widget."

  • Optional: Repeat these steps for the Profile section to ensure the widget is visible from multiple areas of the customer account.

4. Save Changes

  • Click Save in the top right corner to push the changes live to your storefront.

Enhancing Accessibility: Adding a Direct Link

While the account widget is the primary hub, some customers prefer a direct route. You can add a "Manage Subscriptions" link to your website’s header or footer for even easier access.

The URL structure typically looks like this: https://yourstorename.recurpay.com/account/login

Note: Replace yourstorename with your actual Recurpay store handle. Adding this link to your footer ensures that even if a customer isn't logged in, they know exactly where to go to manage their recurring orders.
