How to enable “Edit subscription items” in Recurpay

Let your customers modify their subscription items directly from the portal

Give your customers the flexibility to add or remove products from their active subscriptions without needing to contact support. This feature helps you reduce customer queries, improve satisfaction, and increase the average order value from existing subscribers.


Step 1: Go to Settings > Policies

From your Recurpay dashboard, navigate to Settings > Policies.
Under this section, you’ll find the Edit Subscription Items option.



Step 2: Enable Edit Subscription Items

Check the box “Let customers add and remove subscription items.”
Once enabled, your customers can edit their active subscriptions directly from their Recurpay Customer Portal.

You can decide what products customers are allowed to add to their subscriptions:

  • All Products – Customers can add any product from your store to their subscription.

  • Only Subscription Products – Restricts customers to add only items that already have an active subscription plan.

💡 Tip: Selecting All Products gives you valuable insights into which non-subscription products customers are interested in, helping you plan better bundles or new subscription offerings.


Step 4: Offer Discounts for Added Products

Encourage customers to add more items by offering a discount. You can choose between:

  • Same discount as their current subscription plan, or

  • Offer a custom discount (%) for new products added to their subscription.

If you select the custom option, simply enter the percentage value in the provided box.


Step 5: Configure Shipping for Edited Subscriptions

In the dropdown “How would you like to charge shipping for edited subscriptions?”, choose one of the options:

  • Re-calculate from Shopify (recommended) – Updates shipping automatically based on your Shopify settings.

  • Use custom shipping method – If you prefer fixed or rule-based shipping charges.


Recurpay applies a nominal fee of $0.10 for each edited subscription. This ensures smooth processing and real-time recalculation for updated orders.


Once enabled, customers can easily manage their subscription items, add new products, remove items, or modify quantities, directly through their account portal. This not only saves your support team time but also helps increase engagement and retention.
