Recurpay provides flexible subscription management tools to help customers adjust their deliveries without needing to contact support. By offering alternatives like skipping orders, merchants can reduce churn while maintaining a positive relationship with their subscribers.
Why manage pauses and skips?
Reduce Silent Churn: Restricting customer-side pausing helps prevent "infinite" pauses that lead to lost revenue.
Maintain Customer Control: Features like "Skip" allow customers to defer orders if they have excess stock.
Improve Satisfaction: Clear options for cancellation and rescheduling build trust and long-term loyalty.
Understanding the "Pause" Feature
Currently, the Pause option is available only to the merchant through the Recurpay dashboard. This prevents "silent churn," where customers pause indefinitely and forget about their subscription.
Merchant Access: Go to the Subscriptions menu and select a specific subscription to manually pause it.
Customer Portal: Customers do not see a "Pause" button; they are encouraged to use the Skip or Cancel options instead.
Option 1: The Skip Feature
The Skip option in the customer account portal allows subscribers to postpone their upcoming order to the next scheduled date.
TIP: Encourage customers to skip an order if they are traveling or have too much product, as this keeps the subscription active for the following cycle.
Option 2: The Cancel Feature
If a customer no longer wishes to receive deliveries, they can use the Cancel Subscription button directly in their portal.
WARNING: Cancellation is permanent. If a customer cancels, their future recurring orders will stop immediately.
